Answer these questions on paper after watching the video clip.

A)  Before taxes, how much money did David make?

B)  How much money was taken out of David's paycheck for taxes?

C)  After taxes, how much money did David make?

Shopping Spree

Ready to go shopping at Target Greatlands in Evansville?!?!  Click here to access this week's ads.

A)  Select three items from the ads that you would like to purchase.  Write these items and their prices down on a sheet of paper.

B)  Calculate the total amount for the three items.

C)  Apply your coupon from the Sweet Sale to your total amount.  How much will you save?

D)  Calculate your new total, applying your savings from the coupon.

E)  Calculate your sales tax.  (Remember...you are shopping in Evansville!  Click here for the sales tax chart.)

F)  What is the final amount that you will pay the cashier?

A) On a piece of paper, list your order as well as the prices for each item. Don't forget to include drinks and desserts (if you want!).

B) Calculate the total cost for the meal items.

C) Calculate the sales tax that you will pay. Remember Kentucky sales tax is 6%.

D) Use your answers from parts B and C to determine the final amount that you will pay for your meal.

E) Jenny was a great waitress so you decide to leave her a 20% tip. Tips usually aren't exact (who really pulls out a calculator at a restaurant?!?!), so use your estimating skills to determine a 20% tip for Jenny.
